T-800s and their supporting cast

Having seen four different types of 1/6 scale T-800 Terminator figures (see my last post), here are some of the 1/6 scale supporting cast.

There is Hot Toys 1/6 scale human Resistance fighter Tech-Com Sergeant DX38416 Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), also released in 2005.

According to wiki, Kyle Reese is a Sergeant, Tech-Com, DN38416 - note the naming error by Hot Toys. Kyle is a soldier in the human resistance in the post-apocalyptic future of "The Terminator (1984)", where most of humanity had already been wiped out in a deadly nuclear war on August 29th, 1997, sparked off by an artificial intelligence known as Skynet. The sentient computer system launched a genocidal war on the survivors.

Kyle Reese's plasma gun in the future war scenes is actually a Valmet M82A bullpup assault rifle. The M82 was introduced in Finland in 1978 and discontinued production in 1986. The rifle was ill-balanced, as nearly all the weight was in the rear of the rifle and its urethane stock was very prone to chipping and breaking. One issue that cropped up during its short service life was that the rear sight of an uncased rifle had a tendency to hit the lower face, nose and cheekbones of the paratrooper during landing. If that's the gun the resistance had used, it's no wonder they were losing the war.

In "The Terminator (1984)", Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) is a young Los Angeles waitress who finds herself inexplicably pursued by a relentless cyborg killer, the Cyberdyne Systems Series 800 Model 101 Terminator (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Ten years later, Sarah has transformed herself from the mousy, timid woman seen at the beginning of the first movie into a muscled, ferocious warrior.

Sideshow Collectibles released this 1/6 scale 12-inch Sarah Connor fem fig in 2006. It came with Authentic likeness of Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Fully articulated short female body with 30+ points of articulation, Tactical Vest, Black Pants, Black Tank top, Pistol Belt, Boots, Sunglasses, M-4 A-Cog w/ Silencer, 30-Round M-16 Magazine, Knife, Knife Sheath, Pistol and 12" figure display stand with T2 logo

Sideshow Collectibles 1/6 scale 12-inch Sarah Connor is armed with a Colt Commando CAR-15 carbine. She has added a sound suppressor, along with a laser pointer and an ACOG scope to the weapon.

And in "Terminator Salvation (2009)", there is John Connor (Christian Bale) himself.

A full review of this figure has already been covered HERE

In "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)", commonly abbreviated as T3, the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) saves John and Kate from the T-X's attack, and the three visit the grave of Sarah Connor, where they find a weapons cache left by Sarah's friends as a backup in the event that Judgment Day was not averted.

And these are just some of the weapons (in 1/6 scale, of course) that were used in the Terminator films - sawed-off Winchester 1887 "Rosebox Shotgun", Browning M1919 machine gun fitted with a drum magazine as well as a shoulder strap and special side-mounted trigger, Heckler & Koch G36K with the stock removed, Colt Commando CAR-15 carbine, Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun, M79 grenade launcher, Remington 870 shotgun with a high-capacity magazine tube plus custom foregrip and heat shield, Handheld GE M134 Minigun with ammo belt, M4A1 Carbine with XM-26 LSS, AMT Hardballer Longslide with a primitive laserlock sight, IMI Uzi 9mm Carbine, Colt / Detonics M1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid pistol, SIG P250 and Line launcher with grappling hook.

A comparison of two T-800 cybernetic arms and hands produced by Hot Toys. The latest arm is 'bloodied' and has articulated fingers, down to the individual digits and joints while the much older first version which was included with the Kyle Reese collectible figure is just one plastic molded piece of the T-800 endoskeleton arm and hand.
