Review III: InFlames 1/6 Metal Boss (Battle Armor version) 12-inch collectible figure

This is my version of the InFlames 1/6th scale Metal Boss Battle Armor 12-inch limited edition collectible figure WITHOUT his Rappelling belt / harness (STABO rig?), US M-1956 Load-Carrying Equipment (LCE) consisting of individual equipment belt, belt suspenders, two M-14 ammo pouches (also used for 30-round M-16 magazines) and two M16 ammunition pouches, two 1-quart canteens with canteen covers and the field pack -  basically almost everything that came with this figure ;p

I figured he looked so bada$$ and futuristic with his ultra cool sci-fi armor suit including the full-face protective shield and hand-held shield that the late 1960s / early 70s Vietnam War military gear would look so out of place with the whole get-up. So I ditched them.

To see how this InFlames 1/6 Metal Boss (Battle Armor version) limited edition collectible figure looks like with his full gear and accessories including weapons, check out the PREVIEW pics as well as cosmicbaby's toy blog post of this same figure "Naked Snake aka Big Boss (Battle Armor Version)". Beautifully taken pictures of the figure by cosmicbaby on his blog :)

So with that out of the way, let me introduce you to my version of Metal Boss with Battle Armor (it's supposed to be Naked Snake / Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid" Peace Walker video game).

I decided to keep it simple by maintaining the Big Boss's Sneaking Suit as seen in Peace Walker and only added a holster for his US SOCOM Mk 23 Mod 0 pistol. I wanted to keep everything sleek and in black since stealth was the thing he was going for. The green webbing and equipment pouches seem to clash with what he's already wearing for concealment purposes.

I also felt that the M16A1 Rifle he was equipped with seems rather outdated in comparison with the Battle Armor he was wearing. Almost everyone knows that the particular M16A1 was mostly seen and used in the Vietnam War. The XM16E1 were the first versions of the M16s fielded in the early 1960s.

So I decided to equip the InFlames Metal Boss Battle Armor version with the Dr Figures 1/6 scale Beretta Rx4 Storm rifle / Benelli MR1 rifle ;p

The Beretta Rx4 Storm rifle (aka Benelli MR1) is the latest member of the Total Solutions for Law Enforcement family. This semi-automatic .223 special purpose rifle emphasizes individual performance with multiple stock ergonomic adjustment, and ambidextrous controls.

This 1:6th scale Beretta Rx4 Storm rifle / Benelli MR1 comes with one 100-round drum magazine, adjustable butt stock, flash suppressor plus grenade launcher.

Here's a back view of the InFlames 1/6th scale Metal Boss (Battle Armor version) limited edition collectible figure with shield and holster added (this is NOT the one included - the one included is a green cloth holster which I chose NOT to use)

You can view more pictures of this unique rifle HERE (it came with the Dr Figures 1/6th scale CIA Field Operator 12-inch Figure with Will Smith head sculpt)

This mask is cool but the visor (face armor) with eye guard (Solid Eye System / SES) that came with the Medicom Toys Metal Gear Solid 4 1/6th scale RAIDEN 12-inch figure is at least 10x (ten times) MORE cooler :) Don't believe me? Check out my post HERE of Medicom Raiden!

Here are some close-ups of the InFlames 1/6 Metal Boss (Battle Armor version) with Black jumpsuit, Tactical Body Armor System, Tactical Arm (Hand-held) Shield, MK23 Pistol (with removable clip, suppressor / silencer and Laser Aiming Module / LAM) plus "add-on" holster (NOT included)

Here's the same figure with Tactical Full-Face Shield and "add-on" Dr Figures 1/6th scale Beretta Rx4 Storm rifle / Benelli MR1 rifle (NOT included)

And here he is with his tactical knife unsheathed

Some close-ups of the armor which I had also shown in the earlier post (review II)

And finally, here's a picture of the InFlames 1/6th scale Metal Boss (Battle Armor version) 12-inch limited edition collectible figure with full face shield raised, revealing the "Skull Face" head sculpt (i.e. ZOMBIE face camouflage)

Just a quick re-cap: Besides the above items i.e. "Skull Face" head sculpt, NB01 type body (Approximately 30 cm tall), Big Boss's Sneaking Suit comprising Black jumpsuit, Tactical Body Armor System, Tactical Arm (Hand-held) Shield, MK23 Pistol (with removable clip, suppressor / silencer and Laser Aiming Module / LAM) and Tactical Knife (Sheath NOT shown) AND One pair of boots, InFlames 1/6th scale Metal Boss (Battle Armor Version) 12-inch limited edition collectible figure OR "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" Naked Snake / Big Boss also comes with "Regular Face" head sculpt (seen in my earlier reviews of the Metal Boss BDU version HERE), Hair Top with Cloth Bandana, Rappelling belt, M1961 suspenders, M1961 M16 20-round magazine pouch x 2, M1961 M16 30-round magazine pouch x 2, M1961 combat field pack, Equipment belt, 3 pieces of interchangeable palms, Eye cover / Eye Patch, M16A1 Rifle, KA-BAR knife with leather sheath.

Thanks for the detailed review and photos. I wish you delved more into the articulation of the figure though. Anyway I'm seriously considering getting this especially since I found one for sale for roughly US$200 converted :-)

THe figure itself has the same articulation as regular 12-inch figures but articulation is impeded by the leather suit he wears which is tight and restrictive. Cheers
