Incoming: Toys City 1/6 scale Combat Diver Set for 12-inch figures - Kitbash your own Frogman!

A frogman is someone who is trained in scuba diving or swimming underwater in a tactical capacity which includes combat. Such personnel are also known by the more formal names of combat diver, or combatant diver, or combat swimmer. "Combat swimming" is often used to mean "combat diving", but, according to some, strictly speaking means surface swimming without a breathing apparatus for coastal or ship infiltration. Such actions are a historical form of "frogman" activity and an important feature of naval special operations.

In the U.S. military the United States Intelligence Community, divers trained in scuba or CCUBA who deploy for tactical assault missions are called "combat divers". This term is used to refer to the Navy SEALs, operatives of the CIA's Special Activities Division, elements of Marine Recon, Army Ranger RRD members, Army Special Forces divers, Air Force Pararescue, Air Force Combat Controllers and the Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units.

Toys City 1/6 scale Combat Diver Set for 12-inch figures will come with Diving Suit, Diving Shoes, Diving Gloves, Force-Fin, LAR Rebreather, LAR Life Preserver, Diving Weight Belt, Military Diver Navigation Board, Diving Compass, Diving Depth Gauge, Q-OPS Waterproof Headset, Q-OPS PTT, OTS Underwater Radio, Diving Combat Lanyard, Diving Goggle, Combat Diving Knife. Do note that the 1/6 scale head sculpt and 12-inch figure body is NOT included with this set.

It's been a while since we had a proper 12-inch frogman. Don't know why it's taken this long to re-release a frogman but I'm glad someone finally did. Interestingly enough, Pop Toys released just the exact same diving suit recently, only they called it Water Monster Jumpsuit (see the preview pictures HERE)

Check out the pictures I took of some of my 1/6 scale combat diver 12-inch figures I had collected in the early 2000 period HERE. It has been that long since a proper combat diver in diving suit has been released.

It seems that they are re-producing some of their kits, though this set with wetsuit is more appealing.
