Review IV: The Expendables 2 Sylvester Stallone Barney Ross 1/6 Collectible Figure by Hot Toys

continued from previous post...

Finally we have Hot Toys recently released Movie Masterpiece Series MMS194 Expendables 2 Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross 1/6th scale Collectible Figure in full tactical suit comprising: Black Beret with Expendables emblem / badge, goggles, headset (ear piece with throat mic), black zip-up three-quarter sleeve tee, black tactical vest, a pair of Kimber Gold Combat II pistols holstered in holsters held by a belt with "Expendables" logo on the buckle with customized Colt .45 Single Action Army revolver stored in a holster on his back, black pants and black boots. His main weapon of choice is the Noveske Rifleworks Diplomat Assault Rifle with C-More red dot sight and Surefire M900 weapon-light fore-grip.

All the toy blog posts before this have been building up to this moment, with my first post covering the box packaging and contents which includes two styles of outfits (posted HERE), followed by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) topless with his tattoos (pictures HERE) and then wielding his pistols (see previous post). Here he goes full throttle, firing off full auto with his Noveske Rifleworks N4 Diplomat which is equipped with a Vltor VIS-1 and Diplomat barrel assemblies, with KX-3 flash-hiders. The rifles have EMod stocks from Vltor.

Just like I mentioned earlier, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and his team doesn't seem to run out of bullets. They do not carry any magazine pouches or bags containing extra rifle and pistol magazines and yet are able to keep on firing at their enemies without ever running out of ammunition.

When it comes to Hollywood, most times you have to suspend belief and just enjoy the show with your popcorn and leave your brains at the door. After all, The Expendables films are just good old all-out, over the top action movie that they just don't make anymore.

Plus it's the place to see an all-star cast of action-movie icons gathering back together for a shoot-em up heroes versus all the world's bad guys film. In the picture below, you can see how Barney Ross keeps his customized Colt .45 Single Action Army revolver a.k.a. Peacemaker or Frontiersman

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) uses a pair of Kimber Gold Combat II pistols as his sidearms in the Expendables 2 film. The Kimbers' grips feature small "Expendable" emblems on both guns.

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Yin Yang (Jet Li), and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) use Noveske Rifleworks Diplomats with Vltor VIS-1 monolithic upper receiver assemblies during the rescue mission in the beginning.

It does seem to be Barney Ross' (Sylvester Stallone) primary weapon of choice

Barney Ross' Noveske Rifleworks N4 Diplomat Assault Rifle has the C-More red dot sight and Surefire M900 weapon-light fore-grip, and EMod stock from Vltor.

Close-up views of the 1/6 scale Noveske Rifleworks N4 Diplomat Assault Rifle. One of the reasons I enjoy collecting 12-inch figures are the incredible detailing you get from the 1/6 scale accessories and weapons. Even more amazing are the movables parts and the fact that some of the weapons can be stripped and taken apart like the real thing.
