Sneak Peek at Kotobukiya DC Comics 1/7 scale Armored Wonder Woman Bishoujo Statue

Kotobukiya first began as a single toy store for dolls in Japan operated by Jusaburo Shimizu in 1947. In 1951 Mr. Shimizu re-created his sole proprietorship into a limited liability company, together with his two brothers.

Their first foray into the non-kit business was in May of 1989 with the release of soft vinyl statues and active styling figures (known now as ARTFX Statues). Since then Kotobukiya have increased their lineup to include fully assembled and painted resin statues (Fine Art Statues), Bishoujo (pretty girl) Statues and One Coin Mini Figures.

Kotobukiya has recently unveiled their latest Bishoujo: DC Comics Armored Wonder Woman Bishoujo Statue. Needless to say, she's a beauty, as are all the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Statues :) I like them a lot! My only problem is that I don't collect statues because they don't really move and are not pose-able. Most importantly, most of them are fully painted i.e. costumes, outfits, belts, gear and accessories are all molded and painted. None of them are removable or have the kind of details 1/6 scale accessories have, including removable magazines and in some cases, even removable bullets from the magazines / revolvers etc.

That said, I did receive the Kotobukiya DC Comics Wonder Woman Bishoujo Statue (first version) as a gift and I really LIKED it :) You can check out my reviews with lots of pictures HERE and HERE

It appears like a dagger / knife will be included as an additional / optional accessory

From the close-up shot of the face, Kotobukiya DC Comics Armored Wonder Woman looks like an anime Monica Bellucci ;p
