Review 1: ThreeA Adventure Kartel 1/6 scale Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure

This was part of my haul for July 2014 (see my post HERE)

The Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez is a new addition to the Adventure Kartel Universe and he is famous for decapitating people back in the USSR before he became an astronaut. Based of the Dead Astronaut Gangsta figure, Golovorez comes in a new space suit and an interior helmet light to cast an eery glow on the figure's face.

Dead Astronaut Gangsta is a classic Ashley Wood character who has found his way into the Adventure Kartel Universe. He was originally seen in early comics and paintings, but has also been seen in Miss and Mrs and featured on recent promotional printed material and the SD13 Dead Astronaut Gangsta t-shirt. In the Dead Astronaut Gangsta mini-comic, it is revealed that Little Shadow has hired Dead Astronaut Gangsta to assassinate Tommy Mission for their anniversary.

I don't really follow the Adventure Kartel Universe by Ashley Wood but the preview pictures for this ThreeA 1/6 scale Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure caught my eye and got my attention. One of the first 12-inch figures I ever collected was the Mercury Astronaut (see my post HERE and HERE) and that started me on a journey of collecting 1/6 scale astronauts (check out my toy blog entry HERE) and pilots, including the super awesome and super rare BBI Elite Force USAF U-2 Pilot (pictures HERE).

You can pre-order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Racing across the darkened rooftops of Gotham City, where the city lights can’t reach, and pursued by the screeching police sirens of the Gotham City P.D., Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, pauses to catch her breath and check on her evening’s prize, liberated from a luxurious jewelry store. Arching her back and looking at the full moon, Catwoman wonders if she will see the vigilante tonight. She smiles and purrs at the thought, running her gloved hands across the tight, black leather outfit she wears… if so, she does hope that he’ll enjoy the view.

Sideshow Collectibles and Yamato USA are pleased to present the very beautiful 13-inch (330.2mm) tall Selina Kyle Catwoman Statue. This sensually sculpted resin statue of DC Comics’ popular Catwoman character was imagined by renowned artist and visionary Luis Royo and sculpted by Shin Tanabe.

Preview Kotobukiya Super Street Fighter IV Juri Bishoujo Statue - Is that a spider on her back?

Seems like Street Fighter is getting a lot of attention lately, see previous posts HERE and HERE.

Juri Han (ハン・ジュリ Han Juri, Korean: 한주리 or 韓蛛俐) is a character in the Street Fighter series. She makes her debut in Super Street Fighter IV, where she is a main character in the storyline. She is 25 years old (as of Super Street Fighter IV) and is described as a somewhat mean and nasty member of S.I.N. This Kotobukiya Super Street Fighter IV Juri Bishoujo Statue follows in line with all their Bishoujo series. Bishōjo characters are seen in almost all genres of anime and manga, especially in dating sims and visual novels (also known as bishōjo games), and harem anime and manga. Vega, known in Japan as Balrog (バルログ Barurogu), is a fictional character from the Street Fighter fighting game series by Capcom. Chun-Li (春麗 Chun Rii, Chinese Simplified: 春丽) is a character in the Street Fighter series. Introduced in Street Fighter II, Chun-Li was the only female character in the game, as well as one of the youngest fighters, and while not as physically powerful as the other characters, she is by far the quickest.

Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku ("Hundred Rending Legs", commonly known as the "Lightning Kick"), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed.

Sideshow and Tsume Art are proud to present the famous Chinese fighter, Chun-Li, shown launching her Tenshôkyaku, and frozen in-motion with a cloud of dust underneath her. The detailed sculpture emphasizes the dynamic settings, motion and energy Tsume products are known for. The Chun-Li high quality collectible figure features her iconic outfit from Ultra Street Fighter IV with gilding and metallic textures. The base is a stone-paved floor with black beveled band.

You can pre-order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Titanfall is a 2014 multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. In Titanfall, players control "pilots" and their mech-style Titans, and fight in six-on-six matches set in war-torn outer space colonies. Titanfall is a shooter game played from a first-person perspective. Players fight as free-running foot soldier "pilots" who can command agile, mech-style exoskeletons — "Titans" — to complete team-based objectives. The game is set on derelict and war-torn colonies at the Frontier fringe of space exploration as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia.

The Atlas is the original Titan model produced by Hammond Robotics. It has a balance of mobility and armor, having more mobility than the Ogre, but more armor than the Stryder. This was the first Titan to be revealed. Based on photos of the titan standing next to a pilot it can be estimated to be between 20-25 feet tall. Its main entry point is in its chest, which opens up for the player. The Atlas also has a secondary entry point in a small hatch in the top. This is also the eject port for the Atlas.

Preview Phicen Limited Artistic Interpretation 1:6 scale The Last Female Student Collector Figure

Blood: The Last Vampire is a 2000 anime film produced by Production I.G and SPE Visual Works and directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo. A live-action adaptation of the film with the same title was released in Japan in May 2009. The story is about a girl named Saya, who hunts bat-like creatures called chiropterans using a katana. It is implied that she is the last remaining vampire and called "the only remaining original." Saya has no weakness to sunlight, although it is unknown if she has any of the other vulnerabilities often attributed to vampires. Saya displays superhuman senses and strength, as well as cunning, resourcefulness, and skill. The manga series suggests she was a human-vampire hybrid. Her age is unknown, but a picture of her with nine other people is shown in the film with the date 1892 and the word "vampire" attached to it.

Hot Toys MMS217 The Lone Ranger: 1/6 scale Johnny Depp as Tonto Collectible Figure Review2

continued from previous post...

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Having already done a first part review earlier, I wanted to go into the nice details that come with this movie-accurate Hot Toys MMS217 (Movie Masterpiece Series) The Lone Ranger: 1/6th scale Tonto Collectible Figure. Tonto features: Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Johnny Depp as Tonto head sculpt with real-like facial expression, detailed wrinkles, face paint and gesture as seen in The Lone Ranger. Includes real fabric hair implantation in black long straight hair with tribal accessories plus detailed crow and bandana sculpture on head.

Johnny Depp's Tonto character wears black-and-white face paint and a deceased crow on his head. According to Depp, the inspiration for the costume was a painting entitled I Am Crow by Kirby Sattler. I wasn't used to the look of this Tonto as he was definitely different from all the other Tontos I've come to know. I guess Depp was trying to take the character to another level just like what he did with the pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (see my post HERE where I covered the various 1/6 scale Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow head sculpts that have been released by Hot Toys)

Johnny Depp's Tonto costume is made up of: One black and bronze-colored tribal necklace, One leather-like black belt, One multi-colored belt, One orange-colored belt, One pair of brown pants with pouch and tribal decorations, One pair of brown moccasins. He also has on him One brown and white tribal armband, One white and bronze-colored bracelet, One bronze-colored bracelet. Weapons: One dagger with sheath, Two axes, One revolver. Unfortunately, he doesn't come with a trigger hand for holding the revolver even though he comes with seven interchangeable hands.

Review 1: Hot Toys MMS217 The Lone Ranger: 1/6th Johnny Depp as Tonto Collectible Figure

This was part of my June haul :) see my post HERE

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

The Lone Ranger is a 2013 American action western film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films and directed by Gore Verbinski. Based on the radio series of the same name, the film stars Johnny Depp as Tonto, the narrator of the events, and Armie Hammer as John Reid (The Lone Ranger). It relates Tonto's memories of the duo's earliest efforts to subdue the immoral actions of the corrupt and bring justice in the American Old West. It is the first theatrical film featuring the Lone Ranger and Tonto characters in more than 32 years.

It was a box office bomb! Critics praised the acting performances, western style, but criticized the long length and lack of originality. Charlie McCollum of the San Jose Mercury News wrote, "In the end, The Lone Ranger is one hot mess — an entertaining one, to be sure, but still a mess."

That aside, we have Johnny Depp as Tonto. He seems to pop up as part of Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series collectible figure rather often. Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark / Iron Man have also been produced a lot of times by Hot Toys but that's always as Tony Stark / Iron Man (one of Hot Toys' cash cow). Johnny Depp has appeared as different characters each time - as Captain Jack Sparrow (three times), as Edward Scissorhands, as Sweeney Todd, and now as Tonto. Medicom Toys has also released 1/6 scale versions of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, Ichabod Crane, Sweeney Todd and Mad Hatter.

Pre-order “To the BATMOBILE” Batman 1/6 Maquette Diorama by Tweeterhead / Sideshow

You can preorder this from Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles and Tweeterhead are excited to present the "To the BATMOBILE" Batman Maquette Diorama, based on the classic television show. Artists at Tweeterhead painstakingly researched the Batman costume to ensure 100% accuracy to the original suit. This is supposed to be an extremely limited production and will include a special certificate autographed by Adam West.

Measuring 12.5 inches tall, Batman comes on a base that includes half of the Bat Computer. Soon to follow, the Robin Maquette (coming later this year) will include the second half of the Bat Computer to complete the Bat cave Diorama!

This Batman is from the 1960s American live action television series, based on the DC comic book character of the same name. It starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin — two crime-fighting heroes who defend Gotham City. It aired on the ABC network for three seasons from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968. The show was aired twice weekly for its first two seasons and weekly for the third, with a total of 120 episodes produced during its run. The program was known for its upbeat theme music and camp moral lessons, which included championing the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables and drinking milk among children.

Many sports, music, and media personalities, and a number of Hollywood actors, looked forward to and enjoyed their appearances as villains on the Batman show. They were generally allowed to overact and enjoy themselves on a high-rated television series, guaranteeing them considerable exposure (and thus boosting their careers).

The model kit is comprised of over 400 parts pre-colored in the Eva’s traditional black, purple, and green color scheme so no painting is required. It also has a staggering 60 points of articulation for extreme poseability, and you can recreate just about any of your favorite scenes with tons of extra parts and accessories like the 01’s second set of arms, multiple hands, energy effects and halos, Spears, and more! Evangelion is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed anime television series of the 1990s. DC Collectibles "Batman: Arkham Knight" 6.75-inch action figures are looking rather awesome!

The DC Collectibles March 2015 solicits have been released, showcasing Batman: Arkham Knight products, as well as a couple of statues. This product solicitation is for products that are going to be making their way into stores in February / March 2015.

No Batman fan’s collection will be complete without these intricately sculpted action figures based on the highly anticipated "Batman: Arkham Knight" video game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Rocksteady Studios.

This is a close-up of Arkham Knight, described as a militarized version of Batman, with the "A" logo of the Arkham Asylum facility worn as an emblem on his chest. The 2015 video game introduces the villain Arkham Knight, a character created specifically for the game by Rocksteady, DC Comics CCO and comic-book writer Geoff Johns, and DC co-publisher and comic artist Jim Lee.

Play Arts Kai Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Batman 10.5-inch action figure Review II

continued from previous post...

Check out the latest

Here are more pictures of this recently released Play Arts Kai Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Batman 10.5-inch action figure. Having reviewed the box contents and taken pictures of Arkham Origins: Batman in the basic standing pose as well as the famous Frank Miller "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" jumping down from the sky pose, I wanted to share this other Batman pose inspired by the drawings of comic book artist Neal Adams. In some of Neal Adams' drawings of Batman, he has Batman launching forward with the body very close to the ground in a very dynamic way.

I was able to use the figure display stand included with this Play Arts Kai Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Batman for this particular pose. Any attempt to use the stand to support Batman in a off the ground pose was futile as the figure is just too heavy for the stand which is why I couldn't use the stand in the previous post where I had Batman with both legs in the air. I like the articulation of this Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Batman action figure as he poses rather well with the aid of a stand. he probably can do more and I'll definitely be trying that out with the Play Arts Kai Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Deathstroke the Terminator action figure which I also managed to get. Check out MC TOYS 1/6 scale Dark Climbing Kroenen Set - it's really COOL (pun intended)

MC TOYS ITEM: F-042 1/6 scale Dark Climbing Kroenen Set is a really interesting set. In the Dark Horse Hellboy comics, Karl Ruprecht Kroenen was a relatively unremarkable Nazi SS scientist, whose most distinguishing characteristic was that he always wore a gas mask and protective bodysuit, possibly due to severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and fear of bacteria.

Director Guillermo del Toro created a significantly expanded biography for the character, to appear as a villain in the 2004 film adaptation. Kroenen's portrayal in the Hellboy film is radically different from the comics. Kroenen, who originally played the part of a meek character, who Del Toro describes as someone who is likely to say "Aargh! Don't break the machine!" is here portrayed as a murderous soldier who is inhumanly loyal to Rasputin. In the original script for Hellboy, the young Professor Bruttenholm describes Kroenen as "one of the Reich's top scientists, and head of the Thule Occult Society." In the film release, the line was re-dubbed so that the first phrase was replaced by "Hitler's top assassin."

MC TOYS ITEM: F-042 1/6 scale Dark Climbing Kroenen Set will come with 1/6 scale Kroenen HEAD SCULPT, Black Cap, Neck Gaiter, black Down Hooded Jacket, Shadow Shell Pants, Alpine Gloves, Rocky Mountain High Gaiters, Sabretooth Clip Crampons, TNF SLOT Winter Grip BOOT, Black military mountaineering backpack, Climbing Rope, Climbing Harnesses, Black molle belt, Screwgate Carabiner x 2, Nalgen 1000ml water bottle, Bottle pouch, Carbon Ski Pole x 2, BD Viper Ice Tool x 2, Spinner Leash with Screw Lock, Silver D-ring x2

Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is the successor to the 2011 video game Batman: Arkham City and is the third main installment in the Batman: Arkham series.

The events in Arkham Origins take place about five years before Batman: Arkham Asylum, in midwinter Gotham City. Batman, an experienced crime-fighter in the second year of his career, is not yet the veteran superhero of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Designers aimed to make the younger Batman's outfit look "assembled versus manufactured", pieced together from a number of sources. Holmes said, "[Batman's suit is] not something that was made in a factory. He's taken pieces of tech either he's invented, he's fabricated or things from the Wayne facilities, and he has made this costume out of these pieces."

I don't play video games but when I first saw the preview pictures of Play Arts Kai Square Enix "Batman: Arkham Origins" Batman action figure, I was excited. Being a long time Batman fan, I always enjoy seeing how different artists tweak the batsuit. Some I like and some I don't: case in point, the Square Enix DC Variant Batman which was too manga and anime-like for me. This was the first Play Arts Kai Square Enix action figure I pre-ordered, even before I got the Play Arts Kai Square Enix RoboCop 2014 version 1.0 action figure which I have already reviewed HERE, HERE and HERE.

I have seen the NECA Batman: Arkham Origins 1/4 scale Action Figure (previewed HERE) and although it's nice, 18 inches is unfortunately just too big for my liking. I like the minute details that can be achieved with 1/6 scale figures and don't really see the need to go into 1/4 scale. Even Hot Toys' venture into that particular scale was purely to compete with EnterBay as they prefer to continually pump out 1/6 scale figures on a regular basis because that's what most people want and are comfortable with.

Threezero reveals LMS: Last Man Standing 1/6th scale Gabriel Paladin 13.5-inch tall action figure

Threezero has been working for a while now with artist Dan LuVisi to create a Gabriel sixth scale figure based on his graphic novel LMS: Last Man Standing: Killbook of a Bounty Hunter. Threezero has officially announced they would be making figures based on the graphic novel, and as promised they have revealed some details and images of the figure.

Gabriel — last of a genetically engineered breed of supersoldiers known as the Paladin, genetically created and designed to be physically perfect, Gabriel is the closest to a God we’d ever see. Highly intelligent, fast, powerful and not to mention nearly invincible, Gabriel had one purpose, and one only: to help win a war that the humans of earth could not.

Threezero’s take on Gabriel stands about 13.5″ tall and comes with several god-like accessories. He comes with a triple-barreled gatling gun, a katana, a hunting knife, 2 Python semi-automatic pistols, grenades, a killer book, utility bags, a road sign shield, and an American flag. Oh yeah, and he also comes with a static model of a the robotic cat Gizmo.

The images below feature the unpainted prototype of the Gabriel sixth scale figure. Threezero hasn’t announced a pre-order date, price, or other information yet. Stay tuned for future updates.

Incoming: Asmus Toys "The Lord of the Rings" 1/6 scale Éowyn in Rohan Armour 12-inch figure

Éowyn is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, who appears in his most famous work, The Lord of the Rings. She is a noblewoman of Rohan who is described as a shieldmaiden. Éowyn is described to be very beautiful; she was tall, slim, pale, and graceful, with long golden hair and grey eyes. In temperament she was idealistic, spirited, brave and high-minded, but very lonely, having sacrificed her own happiness for years to care for her sick uncle and meet the responsibilities of a shield-maiden.

In Peter Jackson's films The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), Éowyn is played by Miranda Otto. This is the character on which Amsus Toys has based their Lord of the Rings 1/6 scale Éowyn 12-inch figure on and if I were still collecting The Lord of the Rings figures, I would probably grab this in a heartbeat. But the increasing prices of everything has put a huge damper on the collecting hobby and the price of this figure is just not justifiable.

In Return of the King, Éowyn disguised herself as a man and under the alias of Dernhelm, travelled with the Riders of Rohan to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields outside the White City of Minas Tirith in Gondor, carrying with her Merry Brandybuck, who had also been ordered to remain behind, on her horse Windfola.

20 inches tall ‘Hellfire Club’ Emma Frost Premium Format™ Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

You can preorder this from Sideshow Collectibles

"Of course I'm a threat. Why? Did you think for a moment that I wasn't?"

Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the alluring Emma Frost Premium Format™ Figure. First introduced in Marvel’s acclaimed Dark Phoenix Saga storyline as the White Queen of the elite Hellfire Club, ice-cold Emma Frost began her career as one of the X-men’s hottest adversaries.

Beautifully sculpted in 1:4 scale, Emma Frost coolly assumes her position as the White Queen atop a Hellfire Club themed base, boasting supreme confidence and a quiet mystique. Featuring interchangeable portraits with long and short hairstyles, Emma’s piercing blue eyes reveal even more than her scant attire. Dressed to the nines in her provocative all-white corset, thigh-high boots, and fur-trimmed cape, the drop dead gorgeous White Queen is not to be underestimated...

From her initial appearance as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, Emma Frost appeared as an X-Men villain over the years. Emma Frost first appeared in the famous storyline "The Dark Phoenix Saga", in Uncanny X-Men #129. The character was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist / co-writer John Byrne. Claremont was inspired to create the Hellfire Club after seeing the episode "A Touch of Brimstone" from the television show The Avengers, where spy duo John Steed and Emma Peel infiltrate a criminal, hedonistic, underground society. Emma Frost was specifically inspired by Emma Peel, played by actress Diana Rigg, who famously dons a provocative corset, collar, and boots and becomes the ""Queen of Sin". After The Dark Phoenix saga, Emma Frost frequently appeared in other storylines in Uncanny X-Men and the original volume of the New Mutants alongside her Hellions.

Pre-order Play Arts Kai Square Enix DC Variant Darkseid Villain 11-inch Collectible Action Figure

You can preorder this from Sideshow Collectibles

Darkseid (pronounced "Darkside") is a fictional character, a supervillain who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. He first appeared in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 (November 1970) and was created by writer-artist Jack Kirby. Darkseid is one of the most powerful and evil characters in the DC Universe. A similar supervillain like Darkseid in the Marvel universe would be Thanos.

The impact Darkseid made when he first appeared before Superman was one of the most important events in the DC universe. This was kept in mind when recreating his large frame. The Darkseid collectible figure is re-imagined by Play Arts Kai craftsmanship and is more substantial and robust compared to previous figures in the Variant series.

Revealing bulging muscles and heavy-duty armor, Darkseid's imposing stature is bound to impress and influence those who see him. The joints allow a very wide range of mobility for various poses. The Darkseid action figure contains a translucent piece on his chest emblem and special paint accents with weathered details that exude his ominous presence. Also including a face piece which recreates energy pulsing from his Omega Effect. With accessories like interchangeable hands and a display stand, fans can recreate and enjoy the world of Darkseid.

DID x Fewture 1/6 scale Walter Bishop 12-inch figure from "Fringe - Imagine the Possibilities"

continued from previous post...

Walter Bishop, Ph.D. is a fictional character on the Fox television series Fringe. He is portrayed by John Noble. Noble also plays Walter's counterpart in the show's parallel universe, who is referred to in the show as Walternate. A mad scientist who has had parts of his brain removed by his partner, William Bell, and who spent more than 17 years in a psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane, Walter Bishop can best be described as an eccentric man. Once a brilliant scientist in the realm of fringe science, his trials in life have left him with gaps in his memory and with traits that can best be described as child like. While many parts of his intellect remain intact, he suffers from some degree of agoraphobia and has difficulty properly looking after himself, such that in both timelines he requires either Peter or Astrid to provide him with a basic level of care and supervision.

DID x Fewture have teamed up to produce and release 12-inch figures from Fringe, and this toy blog post covers the 1/6 scale John Noble as Walter Bishop figure. The previous posts covered both Peter Bishop and Olivia Dunham 12-inch figures.

DID x Fewture 1/6 scale Peter Bishop 12-inch figure from "Fringe - Imagine the Possibilities"

continued from previous post...

Peter Bishop is a fictional character of the Fox television series Fringe. He is portrayed by Joshua Jackson. Peter has been described as a "sort of jack of all trades", and also as a "brilliant person" who possesses "a lot of his father's innate intelligence". He is often the first person to note how insane the proposed experiments sound and tries to find logical explanations often where there are none. When he is first introduced, Peter is callous and cold to Olivia, showing little concern for Agent Scott, but he grows to become more sympathetic as details of his unhappy and often traumatic childhood are revealed. He often maintains a sardonic, cynical demeanor, but has proven time and time again to have a heart of gold. In addition, he has become far more enthusiastic about the work Fringe Division does, and his thought process has realigned itself to suit that.

DID x Fewture have teamed up to produce and release 12-inch figures from Fringe, and this toy blog post covers the 1/6 scale Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop figure. The next post will cover the Walter Bishop 12-inch figure.

DID x Fewture 1/6 scale Peter Bishop 12-inch figure from "Fringe - Imagine the Possibilities" will come with authentic head sculpt, new all-era 12-inch figure body with 2 pairs of hands, blue pea coat, black leather jacket, black T-shirt, blue jeans, scarf, gloves, black leather belt, socks, brown boots, black figure display stand with "Fringe" nameplate.

DID x Fewture 1/6 scale Olivia Dunham 12-inch figure from "Fringe - Imagine the Possibilities"

Olivia Dunham is a fictional character from the science fiction television series Fringe, which aired on the Fox Broadcasting Company in the United States from 2008 to 2013. The character was created by series' co-creator J. J. Abrams, and is portrayed by actress Anna Torv. Olivia is the series' protagonist, and was introduced as an FBI Special Agent, working for a multi-agency task force of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security called the Fringe Division, dealing with supernatural events that are linked to experimental occurrences. Having grown up with an abusive stepfather, Olivia struggles with the unexpected changes in her life, following her encounter with mentally unstable scientist Walter Bishop, and his son and an eventual love interest for her, Peter Bishop.

DID x Fewture have teamed up to produce and release 12-inch figures from Fringe, and this toy blog post covers the 1/6 scale Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham female figure. The next two posts will cover both Walter Bishop and Peter Bishop 12-inch figures.

DID x Fewture 1/6 scale Olivia Dunham 12-inch figure from "Fringe - Imagine the Possibilities" will come with 2 authentic head sculpts with different hair / wigs, new female 12-inch figure body with 2 pairs of hands, black suit, white blouse, black leather jacket, red T-shirt, blue cargo pants, socks, two pairs of black boots, G19 pistol, 57 pistol and black figure stand with "Fringe" nameplate.

Sideshow Collectibles G.I. Joe Green Beret Lieutenant Falcon 1/6th Action Figure Review II

continued from previous post...

Respect is not given... it is earned!

This is my second-part picture review of the Sideshow Collectibles San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" Green Beret - Lieutenant Falcon Sixth Scale Figure. Having shown pictures of the box and contents in the previous post as well as posing Lt Falcon with the 1/6 scale Auto-Regulating Gas-Operated (A.R.G.O.) semi-automatic Benelli M4 Tactical shotgun, I also wanted to show Lt Falcon posed with the other weapons that he came with, the 1/6 scale M1911 pistol and Tactical Tomahawk (axe).

"G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" is a military-themed line of action figures and toys in Hasbro's G.I. Joe franchise. This version of G.I. Joe is still much recognized by many people who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s. The short description on the cover flap states that "G.I. JOE is a highly trained, classified, special operations unit composed of men and women from around the globe who fight a secret war against forces that seek to plunge our world into chaos." Because they are fictitious, some liberties can be taken with what uniform they wear (different characters wear different uniforms and there's no uniformity in what they wear as a team) and the weapons they carry.

Sideshow Collectibles San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" Green Beret - Lieutenant Falcon Sixth Scale Figure is very much a U.S. Army Special Forces ("Green Berets") soldier from the Vietnam War era (the Tigerstripe camouflage BDU implies that as most armies of the world today have adopted the digital camouflage pattern for their armed forces' uniforms). Lt. Falcon's primary weapon of choice is the combat shotgun (seen in the previous post HERE) which may have served its purpose in the jungles of Vietnam but it wouldn't work in open areas because the weapon is not effective for long distance battles. The modern soldier is able to carry a shotgun as well as an assault rifle during battle if the operation calls for it.

Lt Falcon's secondary weapon / sidearm is the M1911 pistol, a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge, which has served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces since 1911. Amazing that this pistol is still in use even after more than 100 years! One would think that technology would have rendered this pistol obsolete but modernized derivative variants of the M1911 are still in use by some units of the U.S. Army Special Forces, the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. That certainly says a lot about the battle worthiness of the pistol.

Review 1: Sideshow Collectibles G.I. Joe Green Beret Lieutenant Falcon 12-inch Action Figure

Looks like I'm not done with Sideshow Collectibles "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" line of 12-inch figures yet. Having completed a four-part review of Sideshow's Storm Shadow COBRA Ninja Assassin sixth scale figure (see previous post), how about taking a look at the Sideshow Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" Green Beret - Lieutenant Falcon Sixth Scale Figure which I happen to come across most recently (as mentioned in my July 2014 haul posted HERE)

Lt. Falcon (originally just Falcon) is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and cartoon series. He is a green beret with the G.I. Joe Team and debuted in 1987. His real name is Vincent Falcone, and his rank is that of 1st Lieutenant O-2. As a Green Beret, his primary function is special operations. His father was also a Green Beret, who served with the 10th SFGA (Special Forces Group Airborne), making Falcon a second generation Green Beret.
When Falcon was first released as an action figure in 1987, it had the familiar green beret headgear, and olive green fatigues with tiger stripes, and is armed with shotgun, knife, backpack and antenna.

Sideshow Collectibles Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" Green Beret Lieutenant Falcon 12-inch Action Figure is supposed to come with 1/6 scale Hand Painted Portrait, 1/6 scale Hand Painted Back Country Portrait (alternate), Fully Articulated Prometheus 1.2 Body, Generous assortment of Gloved Hands, Beret, Drive-On Rag, BDU Shirt and Pants, Sculpted Boots.

Soldiers wore OD green rags on their heads during patrol. The rag was used to prevent sweat or wipe sweat from the face thus allowing the soldier to "Drive On". They were referred to as "drive on" rags until the name was shortened to do-rags (also known variously as a doo-rag, dew-rag, du-rag or durag, basically a piece of cloth used to cover the top of one's head).

Phicen:1/6 Little Red Riding Hood Grimm’s Fairy Tales Artistic Interpretation Deluxe 12-inch Figure

It's Singapore's National Day today and how appropriate that this female figure is dressed in red and white, our national colors. Happy National Day to all Singaporeans :)

This will be an incoming Phicen product – Phicen Limited (Item NO: PL2014-48) 1/6 scale Little Red Riding Hood - Grimm’s Fairy Tales Artistic Interpretation Deluxe Collector Figure. Who doesn't know the story of little red riding hood, a French and later European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf? The story has been changed considerably in its history and subject to numerous modern adaptations and readings, one of the most recent being "Red Riding Hood", a 2011 American dark fantasy film directed by Catherine Hardwicke, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and starring Amanda Seyfried in the title role.

Phicen (Item NO: PL2014-48) 1/6 scale Little Red Riding Hood - Grimm’s Fairy Tales Artistic Interpretation Deluxe Collector Figure will come with: 30 cm (12-inch) Large bust seamless body in pale skin tone, 1:6 scale Head sculpt, Replaceable hands 6 pieces / 3 pairs, Dress with underpants, Cape, Dagger, High-heeled boots, Fruit basket, Bread, Grapes (1 bunch), Banana 4 pieces, Apple 2 pieces, Starfruit 1 piece, Hamper / basket with red cloth, Wolf's head, Base (figure display stand)

Phicen Maidservant Uniform Temptation Series Artistic Interpretation 1:6 scale Collector Figure

A Maidservant is simply defined as a female servant. But the french maid uniform has become part of Uniform fetishism, a sexual fetishism where an individual is obsessed and fixated by another or oneself wearing a uniform. A popular costume for sexual role-play, the French maid uniform, worn by a servant who traditionally defers to her wealthy master, carries an implicit dominance and submission symbolism.

Phicen Limited (Item NO: PL2014-35) Maidservant Uniform Temptation Series Artistic Interpretation 1:6 scale Collector Figure will come with 1:6 scale Female Head sculpt, 30 cm / 12-inch tall Large bust seamless body in pale skin tone, Replaceable hands 6 pieces / 3 pairs, Maidservant dress, Underpants, Stocking 1 pair, High-heeled shoes, Neck strap, Hand ring, Feet ring, Hair band, Mop, Pail, Grommet, towel, Base, Tray, coffee cup, coffee spoon

Not too sure what Phicen Limited was thinking when they decided to pursue this subject matter and produce this figure. I guess they figure there are people out there who will buy this particular product. The numbers must be high enough to justify them going into this line. So what's next? Well, among the most common uniforms in uniform fetish are those of a police officer, soldier, schoolgirl, nurse, French maid, waitress, cheerleader, and Playboy Bunny. Some people also regard nuns' habits or even aprons as uniforms. The uniforms may be realistic, or they may be made more sexual through the use of a very short miniskirt, a very long hobble skirt or a corset, through the use of stockings, fishnet tights, or high heels, or by being made of leather or latex, according to preference.

Preview Phicen Limited 1:6 scale Huntress Deluxe Collector Figure - Let the battle begin!

What is it with female / women warriors in comics? They are usually scantily dressed and armed with big swords or spears, and they can go into battle wearing what little they have and yet never experience any wardrobe malfunction. The answer lies in the fact that most probably because they are all drawn by men. So the next question is: What is it with men and scantily dressed women and why do we enjoy seeing so much of the female form?

Phicen Limited seems to know what men (more specifically, 12-inch figure collectors) want and have previewed pictures of their next release which will be the Phicen Limited PL2014-42 1:6 scale Huntress Deluxe Collector Figure. Let the battle begin!
