Review: Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body

This is the recently released Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body which I received via Fedex (see my recent post HERE of my November haul). The Heroik Muscle Body does not come with a 1/6 scale head sculpt (or sword) but in order to show off the body, I wanted to pose the figure with a head and a sword strategically placed so I used the 1/6 scale head sculpt and sword which came with the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1 (1/6 scale The Fantasy Warrior fabric costume and accessories for 12-inch figures) which also arrived at the same time as the Heroik Muscle Body.

This newer Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body is more muscular looking than the previously released Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version (reviewed on my toy blog HERE and HERE) and the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version (also reviewed HERE). The body seems to be designed with one particular body builder / actor in mind, someone who had that kind of physique in his prime. You probably can guess who that is ;p

The Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body has tight joints which allow it to hold nice poses. Almost all muscular bodies have limited articulation at the elbows because manufacturers tend to do away with the double-jointed elbows in order to show off the muscular body's physique. The limited articulation doesn't affect the figure's pose that badly as you can see from the pictures posted below. "Conan" seems to be able to take a knee and grasp his sword rather nicely and looks good doing it too!

This Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body certainly will make a good alternative if one needs a muscular body type for kitbashing a figure with a bigger physique. Scroll down to see the tunaround views.

Here's a comparison picture of the newly released Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body (on the left) standing next to the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American body (on the right). Clearly the chest and shoulders are bigger (even the top of the arms has more bulging muscles) as well as the thighs and a very clever designed knee joint that looks more natural plus the newly designed ankle joints which look way better than those on the previously released AA body. Every 12-inch figure's stability almost always hinges on the ankles. Weak ankles mean that the figure will not stand on its own two feet and will fall over almost every time, as was with the case of Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars Clone Trooper figures.

Hey Alex! Could you compare this with HT TTM 20? Or have you already done that? I think the HT body is more possable? :)

Hi Richie, I didn't get TTM20 as I felt the price was a bit steep for just a 12-inch body. Not value-for-money IMHO
