LIGHTS on!

This second part action figure review of the recently released Hot Toys MMS300-D11 Movie Masterpiece Series Die-cast "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV 33cm Tall Collectible Figure focuses mainly on the light-up features available with this figure. The User Guide comes in a booklet form with many pages of instructions for things like putting in the batteries as well as how to activate the parts which will make the figure more flexible. Batteries are included but packed separately, a huge step taken by Hot Toys to rectify the mistake they made in the past when they left the batteries inside the figure which resulted in leakage and damages to the electronic components, which led me to post an entry titled "Hot Toy Collecting Tip #1: Remove ALL Batteries!". You can read all about it HERE

Just like Hot Toys announced - Special features on the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV armor include: Metallic red, gold and silver colored painting on armor with weathered effects, LED light-up eyes (white light, battery operated), LED-lighted circle-shaped Arc Reactor with hexagonal-shaped indent on chest (white light, battery operated), One interchangeable battle damaged chest armor, One (1) pair of forearm laser weapons (hidden until deployed), Four (4) pairs of interchangeable palms including: One (1) pair of palms with articulated fingers and light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated), One (1) pair of fists, One (1) pair of battle palms with light-up repulsor (white light, battery operated), One (1) pair of palms with real-like thrust fire effect. Fully deployed air flaps at back of the armor. Articulations on waist armor which allow flexible movement.

Note the parts where it's mentioned LED light-up. These are located at the eyes, circle-shaped Arc Reactor and both palms. A total of 12 batteries are included, three for each LED light-up function. NOTE: There are six bigger sized batteries which are for the eyes and arc reactor. The other six smaller sized batteries are for the palms. The smaller size batteries still work for the eyes and arc reactor but the bigger sized batteries won't fit into the battery compartment which activates the lights for the palms (repulsors). A tiny screwdriver is also included, in case you are not so handy at home and don't own any DIY tools.

The battery compartment for the Hot Toys die-cast Iron Man Mark XLV light-up eyes is at the top of his head (see picture above) and the battery compartment for the LED light-up arc reactor is at the back of the figure. All the battery compartments are very well hidden and you wouldn't know that they were there if not for the User Guide. Very clever engineering by Hot Toys

The battery compartment for the light-up palms are located in the forearms of Hot Toys MMS300-D11 Movie Masterpiece Series Die-cast "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV 33cm Tall Collectible Figure

The light-up effects are quite strong. Check out the pictures below
